I am a seasoned communications professional with over 20 years of experience, primarily focused on strategic storytelling and digital engagement. Currently, I serve as Director for Communications & Digital Media in Athletics at American University in Washington, D.C., where I lead initiatives that include content strategy, digital storytelling, and cross-platform communications.
In my role, I oversee a full-time staff and manage student assistants, guiding them in producing high-impact content that engages audiences and aligns with organizational goals. I have spearheaded initiatives such as video production, graphic design, news writing, media relations, and maintaining public-facing records. My leadership in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment has positioned me as a key player in crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
I am passionate about storytelling and creating content that reflects an organization’s mission and values. My attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to delivering high-quality work have been instrumental in driving results and increasing engagement across digital and print platforms.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from James Madison University and a master’s degree in sport management from Drexel University, where I received the Most Outstanding Thesis Award for my project, "Tweeting with a Purpose: How Major League Baseball Players Can Enhance the Fan Experience Through Twitter."
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading bestselling fiction, lifting weights, and exploring the Washington, D.C. area.
